There are many terms in the Darkages game that you may be unfamiliar with because this game was founded on Gaelic Mythology. This is a list of some common terms that you may see throughout the game and hopefully this will help you to understand them a bit better.


Glossary:
Health Points - A numerical amount of vitality your character has. Once this value reaches 0, your character dies.
Mana Points - A numerical amount of mana your character has. Every spell in the game consumes a certain amount of mana from you.
Strength - Affects the amount of damage you do when you strike creatures. This also affects the amount of equipment you can weild at any given time and the amount of equipment you can carry.
Intelligence - Affects the amount of damage you do with casted spells.
Wisdom - Affects the amount of mana you get per level. You get the most mana at lower levels so high Wisdom helps here. Once you get 100 Wisdom, you get 11% mana regeneration instead of 10%. You get an additional 1% for every point of Wisdom after this, capping at 109 Wisdom for 20% mana regeneration.
Constitution - Affects the amount of health you get per level. You get the most health at lower levels so high Constitution helps here. Once you get 100 Constitution, you get 11% health regeneration instead of 10%. You get an additional 1% for every point of Constitution after this, capping at 109 Constitution for 20% health regeneration.
Dexterity - Affects the chance of your skills and spells to hit creatures.
DMG - Makes your attacks do more damage.
HIT - Makes your attacks hit the creatures more often.
Health Regeneration - This is an increase on the amount of Health Points you regenerate every tick. Every point of health regeneration is 0.1% more total Health Points per tick.
Ao - To Remove. Example: Ao Beag Cradh removes the spell Beag Cradh
Beag - Little. Example: Beag Naomh Aite is an underpowered Naomh Aite spell.
Mor - Strong. Example: Mor Naomh Aite is a powerful Naomh Aite spell.
Ard - Very Strong. Example: Ard Naomh Aite is a much more powerful Naomh Aite spell.
Dia - Godly. Example: Dia Naomh Aite is the most powerful Naomh Aite spell.
Holy Staff - A Holy Staff is one that only a priest can weild.
Magus Staff - A Magus Staff is one that only a mage can weild.
Fior - An Elemental Nadur Potion used for restoring wizard's mana.
Deum - Potion. There are many potions in the game.
Magical Item Properties:
Abundance - Increases your DMG by 1. Wizards can bless some equipment with these properties.
Blessed - Increases your HIT by 5. Wizards can bless some equipment with these properties.
Might - Increases your Health Points by 100. Wizards can bless some equipment with these properties.
Magic - Increases your Mana Points by 50. Wizards can bless some equipment with these properties.
Godly Item Properties:
Deoch - Increases your Health Regeneration by 5. Deoch priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Glioca - Increases your Wisdom by 1. Glioca priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Cail - Increases your Constitution by 1. Cail priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Luathas - Increases your Intelligence by 1. Luathas priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Gramail - Increases your Magic Resistance by 10%. Gramail priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Fiosachd - Increases your Dexterity by 1. Fiosachd priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Ceannlaidir - Increases your Strength by 1. Ceannlaidir priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Sgrios - Increases the Durability of the worn item by 10%. Sgrios priests can bless some equipment with these properties.
Elements:
Srad - Fire. Srad is powerful against Athar.
Athar - Wind. Athar is powerful against Creag.
Creag - Earth. Creag is powerful against Sal.
Sal - Water. Sal is powerful against Srad.
Dumbh - Dark. Dumbh is powerful against Srad, Athar, Creag, and Sal - but more powerful against Holy.
Holy - Light. Holy is powerful against Dumbh.
Nature - Earth. Nature is powerful against Sal.
Metal - Fire. Metal is powerful against Athar.
Undead - None. Undead is not powerful against anything.
